Get to know the local issues
Dear editor,
The recent primary elections are over, school has ended and the class of 2012 is on their way to successful futures.
I would like to give my support to all of those candidates that will be campaigning for office in November in the general election. The campaign process is taking a breather but will be starting up again here shortly.
I came to realize during the last primary election cycle how many great people live in our legislative district. I met great people in Elmore County, Owyhee County and Twin Falls County. I was interviewed by newspapers from all the counties, participated in candidate forums and even participated in a televised debate in Twin Falls.
I encourage all of us to continue to follow the issues, get to know the candidates and to vote.
The day after graduation, I found a note from a recently graduated senior in my teacher mailbox at the high school. The note means a great deal to me. In the note, this great young person thanked me for showing them how to pursue a dream and do your best, even if you don't achieve the desired result. At that moment I realized my candidacy was a success.
I would like to thank that student for reminding me that life truly is a journey and not a destination. I will continue to be involved in the community. I would like to thank all of the great people of this legislative district that take the time to vote and be a part of our great system of representative government.
