Track team places during state event
Mountain Home High School's boys track and field squad finished 12th overall while the Tiger girls came in 21st in the girls competition during the State 4A Track and Field Championships held last week at Middleton High School.
Rigby won the 4A boys competition with 79 points while Mountain Home trailed with 22. Others placing at the event included Skyview, which finished second with 71 and Pocatello, which came in third with 64.
In individual results, J.T. Cristobal finished second in the 100 meters and fifth in the 200 meters. He ran with Michael Daniels, Ricky Castillo and Tyler Knauth in the medley relay, where Mountain Home came in fourth. Knauth also had a fifth-place finish in the 800 meters.
In the girls' competition, Bishop Kelly won the 4A event with 127 points while the Tigers finished with just five. Jerome came in second with 86 points while Rigby was third with 62.75.
Individually, Kacee Cameron finished seventh in the triple jump and eighth in the long jump while Jhorie Kelly was seventh in the 300-meter hurdles.
