18 graduate from charter high school

Some rejoiced while others came close to tears as a close-to-record number of students earned their diplomas during their graduation from Richard McKenna Charter High School on Saturday.
The 18 seniors participating in this year's commencement ceremony showed true leadership and tackled very tough obstacles to reach this moment in their lives, said Larry Slade, director for the charter school.
It took "sustained sacrifices and effort" for these students to further their education, Slade said.
