For the troops...

Earlier this month, students in Gina Longhurst's class launched an effort to collect everything from personal hygiene items to snack foods for these service members.

Over a three-week period, these students collected more than 1,050 items, which included a donation of more than a hundred items from Jack and Cindy Mentor. In addition, students at the high school wrote more 600 cards of thanks to accompany these gifts. Photo by Brian S. Orban
