America in transition
Dear editor,
America is in transition. Relentless incremental steps over two generations have laid the foundation for the final leap to a failed European model of socialist governance.
Which GOP presidential candidate is best equipped to communicate our peril, rally the resistance and ignite a spirit of unapologetic nationalism aimed at putting us back on course toward tradition? That is for you to decide on March 6th.
March 6th is referred to as "Super Tuesday," because it is the date when more caucuses and primaries are held on one day than any other. The candidate that wins Super Tuesday carries enormous momentum between that day and the August 27th GOP National Convention.
Prior to this year, Idaho had been invisible to GOP presidential candidates. Our 32 delegates were won by default, without being asked to dance. Our former primary system held in May was too late in the process to be on the campaign radar. By then, the nominee was all but crowned by the party.
Things have changed for the better with the caucus system. The GOP candidates have come to Idaho to speak and give us their ear. Only four states have primaries or caucuses earlier than Idaho. Iowa and Nevada are two of them, and they have fewer delegates than us up for grabs.
Switching to the caucus system allowed Idaho to join Super Tuesday. I encourage Republicans to come, make a pitch for their favorite candidates and vote on March 6th.
Idaho has a voice that will contribute in a meaningful way to determine which GOP presidential candidate will face off with Obama over the teetering destiny of America.
