Gunfighter earns medal for valor

Nearly eight months after his actions were credited with saving the lives of more than 50 U.S. and coalition soldiers in Afghanistan, a captain from Mountain Home Air Force Base received one of the military's highest honors for valor.
Capt. Mark B. Rioux, a weapons systems officer with the 389th Fighter Squadron, received the Distinguished Flying Cross during a presentation ceremony Jan. 6.
