Fire department hosts annual open house
Wednesday, October 12, 2011

Fire Chief Phil Gridley demonstates the equipment he uses to fight a fire, during a National Fire Prevention Week presentation to students at North Elementary School.
The Mountain Home Fire Department will hold its annual open house from 5:30-8:15 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 13.
The event traditionally features an opportunity for children to ride the fire trucks on brief trips through town, complete with sirens blazing.
A number of handouts for children will be available, including such items as fire helmets and badges.
Sparky the fire dog and Smokey the Bear will be on hand to greet the children. In addition, representatives of a large number of local emergency service agencies will be on hand with booths and displays.
