School day becomes a zoo day

Sarah DeVore's zoology class react as they meet with Rowan, a two-year-old alpaca, as Austin Lucas explains the traits of the animal during his presentation Monday afternoon.
The cria, or baby, alpaca was one of a handful of farm animals that students in the zoology class brought to Mountain Home High School as part of their reports on their myriad of pets under their care.
In addition to dogs and cats, a few students decided to bring along more non-traditional pets, including a 900-pound pig, a horse and a turtle. Photo by Brian S. Orban
