Senior party guest says thanks
Dear editor:
As President of the Mountain Home High School Class of 2011 Senior Celebration Committee, I wanted to extend my heartfelt thanks to all the businesses, individuals and volunteers who made this years Senior Celebration a HUGE success.
We chose to go in a new and different direction and try something that had never been done before.
We held the event on the Air Force Base and we had five different venues, the Community Activity Center, Youth Center, Bowling Alley, Auxiliary Gym and Movie Theater.
We had vans that ran all night long, transporting the kids between activities and we ended the night at the CAC, where we gave away cash and prizes to the graduates. There was food and drink at each venue (all donated by very generous people and businesses) and a long list of parent and Air force volunteers to man all the facilities.
The kids were incredibly respectful and well behaved and the volunteers were enthusiastic and helpful.
The Mountain Home School District bus drivers dropped us off and got up in the middle of the night to pick us up and transport us back to the high school, and they were extremely patient and good natured even as they waited almost an extra hour because we ran late while trying to give away the door prizes and sign everyone back on to the buses.
This is indeed a great community and the young people who represent our future are wonderful, deserving kids.
And finally, and most importantly, I would like to give the biggest thanks to the Senior Celebration Committee members who worked tirelessly on behalf of this endeavor.
Each and every one of them gave countless hours of their time and money to put this thing together. It has been my pleasure to work with and get to know each of them and thank you seems almost inadequate.
