Praise offered for the effort of volleyball camp coaches
Dear editor:
My daughter is in the 4th grade and when we asked her if she wanted to go to the volleyball camp that was put on recently she said, "yes."
I was impressed with how the coaches (Rachele Asbury, Andrea Cotton, Michelle Guidry, Tammy Jewett), taught the fundamentals and how great they were with all the kids. Patient, instructive, encouraging, informative, kind; I really can't praise them enough or find the right words for what a great job they did.
My daughter had never played volleyball, but by the time of the tournament at the end of the camp she had learned a lot and was having fun and proud of herself.
One little girl had been trying so hard to get a serve across the net, and in four games it never happened. In the fifth game she got one over and could hardly contain herself. Smiling ear to ear and so overflowing with joy she couldn't help jumping up and down and saying "I did it! I did it!"
Thanks to the above coaches for providing such a great atmosphere and for taking the time to put on the camp.
