Tiger golfers tee off at home
The Mountain Home Tiger boys golf team kicked off its 2011 season last Thursday at Desert Canyon Golf Course, hosting a four-team conference meet and finishing third.
Bishop Kelly won the event, shooting a 164. Columbia was second at 168. Mountain Home came in third at 179 and Skyview shot a 180 team score.
Clint Butori led the Mountain Home squad with a 43. Meanwhile, Brent Sexauer shot a 44, Derek Doerr carded a 45, Doug Zielnicki shot a 47 and Matt Houston came in with a 54.
Mountain Home Tiger golf coach Nick Trueba was pleased with the first effort of the season.
"They did all right," the coach said. We've got a little bit of kinks to work out, but for the most part, they're doing all right. I think we'll be able to hang in with everybody."
Bishop Kelly also won the JV competition, shooting a 180 team score.
Mountain Home was second at 221, Columbia shot 225 and Skyview came in fourth with a 233.
