Banquet tickets on sale

The Mountain Home Historical Society will host the 2011 Women's History Banquet at the Elks Lodge on Saturday, March 5.

The 11th annual banquet will begin at 6 p.m. Tickets are $25 each and are on sale at the museum. The banquet features a full dinner, a no-host and includes a fundraiser.

The theme this year is, "Women of Strength," honoring local women who have "excelled in sportsmanship, team leadership and individual talent." Honorees are female athletes, coaches and women "who have shared their passion and support for sports," a banquest spokesperson said. The honorees are: Barbara Buchan, Nikki Cruser, Erin Hicks, Sher Sellman and Angela Taylor. Joy Memmelaar is a posthumous honoree.
