The police department received 25 calls involving broken vehicle windows that apparently happened overnight, said Police Sgt. Rick Viola, a department spokesman.
The crimes appear "completely random," Viola said. Areas the suspects struck include North 3rd East, East 15th North and North 6th East streets as well as Brookside Court and Catherine Way. Those affected by these crimes reported that nothing was taken from their vehicles, Viola said.
The police department urges people that see suspicious activity or have any information regarding these cases to immediately contact authorities. In addition to dialing 911, people may call the police department directly at 587-2101 during regular business hours.
In addition, residents can file a report online through the department's "Silent Witness" link at www.mhpd.net. People may choose to file anonymously if they prefer.
