Junior high wrestlers excel during regional competition

The junior high wrestling team continued its winning ways last week beating East Valley Middle School 50-48 and Nampa West 56-46 to remain undefeated at 8-0 in dual matches on the year.
Then the Tigers went to Twin Falls for the Robert Stuart Invitational on Saturday.
Mountain Home had two teams in the tournament, a seventh-grade team and an eighth-grade team. The seventh-grade team took first place in the tournament, beating Irving Middle School from Pocatello. The eighth-grade team also wrestled well and took third place.
Pierce Mederios was voted the outstanding seventh-grade wrestler at the tournament by the coaches.
Mountain Home wrestlers who placed in the tournament for the seventh-grade team included:
* Pierce Mederios took first place at 75 pounds.
* Jacob Lucas took second place at 85 pounds.
* Justin Lawler took fourth at 95 pounds.
* Lance Lasuen took third place at 100 pounds.
* Nick Shoemaker took second at 105 pounds.
* Tucker Holland took fourth place at 105 pounds.
* Caleb Degroot took third place at 120 pounds.
* Garrett Vines took third place at 125 pounds.
* Abraham Salas took first place at 140 pounds.
* Taylor Ogaard took second at 150 pounds.
* Jon Kaiser took fourth in the 150 pound weight class.
* Dale Knox took first place at 190 pounds.
* Jose Ortiz took first place at heavyweight.
Eighth grade wrestlers who placed in the tournament were:
* Justin Lisonbee took second place at 98 pounds.
* Jonathan Deese took fourth at 103 pounds,
* Tanner Sessions took first at 125 pounds.
* Jacob Ryan took second at 130 pounds.
* Colt Lohmeier took second at 152 pounds.
* Dallin Dearing took third at 215 pounds.
The junior high wrestling Team only has three more duals before they head to districts on Friday.
