Citizens step up to help kids who need supplies
Dear editor:
I have been a resident of Mountain Home most of my life and it never ceases to amaze me how generous my community is time after time.
Recently, I discovered that we have a population of young people in Mountain Home that start school with no supplies. These families are on limited income due to disabilities. Affording school supplies would mean they would have to sacrifice something else, which includes groceries for the home.
I really felt like I needed to do something but the job I have will not allow for me to personally purchase these items, because it becomes an ethics issue.
Our beautiful receptionist overheard my dilemma and took it on herself to contact her church and others. When she was speaking to her brother in Arizona about the sadness of it all, he also responded.
Thank you once again Mountain Home Community and a warm thank you to D&G Towing in Kingman, Ariz., who stepped out of their own community to help those in ours.
Things like this always remind me why I am so proud to say that I am from Mountain Home, Idaho!
