History center celebrates 10th anniversary

The Oregon Trail History and Education Center was created ten years ago as part of a public and private funding effort.

The Oregon Trail History and Education Center celebrated the 10th anniversary of its opening on July 14.

This weekend, during the Three Island Celebration, the center's 10th anniversary will be marked by a visit from Idaho Department of Parks and Recreation Director Nancy Merrill.

Since the early 1980s, local residents had been keeping alive the story and spirit of the thousands of Oregon Trail pioneers who crossed the river at Three Island Ford.
