County fair begins July 11

Friday, July 2, 2010

Looking to "stirrup some fun" for people across southern Idaho, the Elmore County Fair will open to the public starting July 11 in Glenns Ferry.

Celebrating its 105th anniversary in the county, the yearly fair invites people to take a step back to the past and take part in a tradition that boosts a sense of community and family, according to a statement from fair officials.

"Our fair has been compared to a Norman Rockwell painting of a moment stuck in time, and honestly we can not think of a better compliment," officials said. "We want kids to be kids, cowboys to hang on for eight seconds and anyone who takes pride in a job well done to be rewarded with a big ribbon."
