Marla Lawson has a caring attitude
Dear editor:
The political season is upon us again and I have been watching things unravel as we get ready to vote on May 25.
I, like most people, am trying to decide who to vote for. I know most of all the people running for office or at least are aware of who they are. They all seem qualified to do the job they are seeking. I wish I had a magic wand to wave over all of them and the right person would pop up in each category and I would then vote for that person. I would also like to meet each person and talk with them about issues that are near and dear to me.
Yesterday, I was able to finally meet Marla Lawson. I had read all the letters in the paper about her and, quite frankly, was a little concerned. After talking with her for about ten minutes I found out she is just like me and is concerned about the same things I am. She seemed to genuinely care about all the hard issues facing us today.
She is particularly concerned about education in Idaho. She has children and grandchildren just like me. She wants the best education for them possible and she has some good ideas I think will help solve some of our education problems in Idaho.
She is also deeply concerned about small businesses in Idaho. She, like me, thinks small businesses are the backbone of Idaho society. She wants to help them in any way she can and has several ideas to make their lives better.
We talked about gun control, taxes, abortion, homosexuality, immigration, senior citizens, medical/health insurance and care, and many other topics. I was amazed she knew quite a bit about all of them. She has a lot of good ideas that I agreed with to help solve some of the problems in these areas.
I am convinced she is the right person for the job. Her caring attitude is what struck me most of all.
I will vote for Marla Lawson for District 22 senator.
