Golfers finish 3rd at meet
Both the Mountain Home girls and boys golf teams finished third at last week's conference golf meet at Falcon Crest Golf Course.
Bishop Kelly won the girls competition, shooting a 165 team score. Columbia was second with a 182, three shots better than Mountain Home's 185. Kuna came in with a 199 total.
Alicen Wendall led Mountain Home with a 42, putting her in a five-way tie for second place. Kelsey Egusquiza shot a 45, Shelby Stevens had a 46, Melanie Bates came in with a 52 and Anna Bailey carded a 53.
Bishop Kelly also won the boys competition, shooting a 171. Columbia came in at 187 while Mountain Home was 189.
Zach Pomerantz led Mountain Home with a 43 for fourth place. Stephen Elliott's 48 tied him for sixth and Clint Butori, Jeff Land and Brent Sexauer each shot a 49.
Mountain Home's girls joined Skyview, Columbia, Nampa and Kuna at Centennial on Monday while the boys faced teams from the schools Monday at Hunter's Point in Nampa.
