Don Harlan
Donald E. Harlan, 65, of Hammett, passed away on Sunday, March 7, 2010 ,at a Boise hospital.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, March 12, at Rost Funeral Home, McMurtrey Chapel. Cremation was under the direction of Rost Funeral Home, McMurtrey Chapel.
Don was born on Aug. 12, 1944, in Boise, to Don and Becky Harlan. He was a graduate of the Weiser High School. After graduation he ran the family farm in the Weiser area. After selling the farm, Don worked in mining and construction throughout the Northwest.
On March 1, 1980, Don married Marjorie Worth in Elko, Nev. In 1983 they moved to Hammett to settle down and raise their two sons.
Don enjoyed the outdoors. He liked working on their farm, sailing, fishing and playing Santa for Santašs Workshop, making sure all the children received toys for Christmas.
He was a member of Weiser Lodge No. 23 A.F&A.M, Loyaute Chapter #19. OES, Shriners of North American and the Scottish Rite.
Don is survived by his wife, Marjorie, of Hammett, his son, Don, and granddaughter, Hannah, of Glenns Ferry, and his son Nick and wife Mandy, of Mountain Home, his brother, Neil Harlan of Weiser, and sister Betty Thomas of Adrian, Ore.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
