Sophomores fall to Middleton
The Mountain Home Lady Tiger sophomores dropped their conference basketball opener to Middleton 28-20 last Tuesday in Lloyd Schiller Gymnasium in Mountain Home.
Mountain Home battled tough in the first quarter, grabbing a 4-3 lead midway through the first quarter, but trailed, 7-6, after a quarter.
Middleton extended its lead to 18-11 at the half, and led 24-16 heading into the fourth quarter.
Each team managed just four points in the final quarter, and Middleton ended up on top, 28-20.
Emilee Schetzle led the Mountain Home sophomores in scoring with nine points. JaDene Palmer scored four points for the Lady Tigers while Kacee Cameron and Alexis Berry both had two points and Jhorie Kelley, Emma Wenger and Marissa Streeter each added one point.
The Lady Tigers were plagued by poor free-throw shooting, hitting just 27 percent from the free-throw line, going 6 for 22 during the game.
