Young girl killed in accident at milepost 116
A 9-year old Boise girl died at the scene of a single vehicle rollover accident just east of Hammett near milepost 114 Wednesday morning. Her 11-year-old brother was transported by air ambulance to a Boise hospital.
The children's grandmother was driving the Chevrolet Venture van on eastbound I-84 when the vehicle blew a tire. The woman overcorrected, and the van rolled and flipped into the median coming to rest on its tires. Both children were ejected.
The grandmother suffered minor cuts and bruises, according to Deputy Kevin Henslee from Elmore County Sheriff's Department. Henslee is leading the investigation into the accident.

The driver told Deputy Henslee that the children where riding in the back seat watching a movie. It has not been determined whether they were wearing seatbelts.
The victims have not been identified pending notification of family.
