5 players named to all-star event

Five football players from Mountain Home and surrounding communities will compete against players representing 41 high schools at the 14th Annual District III High School Shrine All-Star football games Nov. 28.

Held at Eagle High School's Thunder Stadium, kickoff for the eight-man all-star game begins at 11 a.m. with 11-man all-star action following at 2 p.m.

Representing the East 11-man squad this year include defensive back Tom Hennessy and offensive lineman Jake Lewis from Mountain Home High School.

This year's eight-man East squad includes Ricardo Araujo, Allie Pennington and Brian Simpler from Rimrock Jr./Sr. High School.

Tickets for the all-star event are $12 for adults and $6 for students up to age 18 are available at the stadium gate. Proceeds benefit Shriners Hospitals for Children and the Idaho Children's Hospital Transportation Fund.
