Golf champ honored
City Planner Bonnie Harper was awarded last week with her championship golf trophy for her victory at the Ladies Club Championship held in August.
During the tournament, Harper trailed by four strokes following the first day, but was able to achieve victory in the second day by making up her four-stroke deficit and defeating the field of 40 competitors by four strokes.
With the win, Harper qualified for the statewide Tournament of Champions held in Sun Valley last September, but was unable to compete due to medical reasons.
"It was nice to win this year. I worked really hard and had some strong competition," said Harper.
"She earned this. It was some spectacular golf," said Audrey Mazotas, outgoing president of the Mountain Home Ladies Golf Association who was on hand to present Harper with her trophy.
