Tigers rebound to beat Kuna
The Mountain Home Tigers boys soccer team bounced back from a loss to Middleton earlier in the week to down Kuna in conference boys soccer.
Middleton 2, Tigers 1
The Mountain Home Tigers battled Middleton tough last Tuesday, but came up short in a 2-1 loss to the Vikings at Eastside Park in Mountain Home.
Mountain Home's lone score came on a penalty kick by Raif Armstrong. Fernando Salas had eight saves on goal for the Tigers.
Tigers 3, Kuna 1
The Tigers had things go their way last Thursday, when they beat Kuna 3-1 at Eastside Park in Mountain Home.
Francisco Dominguez scored two goals for the Tigers' winning ways while Raif Armstrong added one and Lucas Marsh chalked up an assist.
Fernando Salas led the Mountain Home defense with eight saves at the goal.
"It was nice to see us come back from our tough loss to Middleton on Tuesday with a nice win tonight against Kuna," said Tiger boys soccer coach Paul Walsh. "Kuna played tough tonight. We were lucky to come away with that win."
The win improved the Tigers to 8-5 on the season and 8-4 in league play.
The Tigers close out their regular season schedule this week. They traveled to Nampa on Tuesday and take on Bishop Kelly this afternoon.
The District III 4A Boys Soccer Tournament starts Saturday at Bishop Kelly.
Coach Walsh hopes his Tigers can put it all together at district this year and make it to state.
"We're hoping," Walsh said. "We started out the season real strong and we're battling some bugs like everybody else, but we're hoping to improve before we get into district. We're hoping for really good things at district."
