Freshman Tigers falter in 12-6 loss to Emmett
In what was a tough defensive struggle, the Mountain Home Tigers freshman football team dropped a 12-6 contest at Emmett Sept. 10.
Mountain Home's lone score came on a 58-yard touchdown pass from Ben Ceccarelli to Tyler Casey.
"We played much better against Emmett, especially defensively," said Tiger freshman football coach Rick Suber. "I thought our effort, execution and attitude improved from the previous week. Offensively, it's still a work in progress, but we will continue to work hard to put more points on the board."
The Tigers had 67 yards rushing in the game. Tyler Rios led the way with 54 yards on 10 carries. Skyler Podesek had six carries for 12 yards, and Ben Ceccarelli carried twice for one yard for Mountain Home.
The Tigers had 103 yards through the air as Ben Ceccarelli completed eight of 14 passes for 103 yards and a touchdown. Tyler Casey caught three passes for 78 yards and a touchdown, Tyler Elliott caught two passes for 13, Skyler Podesek had one catch for nine yards and Cameron Hale and Tyler Rios also caught passes.
Defensively, Tyler Rios led the Tigers, getting eight tackles for losses.
Coach Suber also praised Stephon Lemmon, Tyler Casey, Skyler Podesek, Jared Cantrell, Joey McCollough and Tyler Elliott for their defensive efforts.
The Tiger freshmen host Kuna Thursday afternoon at 4:30 p.m. at Tiger Field.
