Wednesday, September 9, 2009
A former employee with the county's department of motor vehicles will go to district court Oct. 5 to face five charges of embezzling public funds.
Mava Terhaar waived her right to continue with a preliminary hearing Sept. 2 at the Elmore County Courthouse, prompting Magistrate Judge George Hicks to bind her case over to the district level.
Terhaar remains free on a $10,000 bond.
Elmore County Sheriff's Office deputies arrested her July 30 for allegedly embezzling more than $270,000 from the county's department of motor vehicles.
