Who would you believe?
Dear editor:
Picture this:
A man in a suit strolls into the county commissioners' office and announces:
I've located a piece of prime agricultural property on the Snake River that I would like you to rezone so that I can do with it what I please regardless of the effect on the surrounding land or neighbors.
Oh by the way;
I have no money. In fact,
I'm heavily in debt.
I don't own the land.
I don't reside in your county and can't even vote there.
I don't have any experience or credentials regarding the developments suggested for the property.
My project was denied in the adjacent county for various reasons.
There will be a huge tax burden on your county for building the infrastructure for my project but I will not provide a completion guarantee.
It will be virtually impossible to rezone the property back to agricultural should the project fail to be completed.
So whaddaya say?
Gimmee a break!!!
