Skinner, Quintal works to raise funds for national softball championship

Nickayla Skinner and Jenica Quintal, two local softball stars, are in the process of raising money for their upcoming trip to Lancaster, Calif., for the Western National Softball Championships on Tuesday, July 28.

Both Skinner and Quintal were given the opportunity to travel with a team out of Twin Falls to take part in tournaments during the summer.

They have recently won the Idaho State Championships held in Lewiston, and finished first in two Utah tournaments and fourth in the Colorado Sparklers tournament, a state-wide tournament that featured over 200 teams.

Skinner's mother, Katilia Skinner, is working on planning a car wash to help raise money for the trip, that she estimates should cost approximately $1,000. They hope to collect that amount before Monday, July 27.
