Mannequins Around Town project promotes history, helps businesses

The Mountain Home Historical Museum's 'Mannequins Around Town' project is nearing the middle of its term.
Ten businesses hold the mannequins.
"I think it's great to have it around town because most of us that have regular jobs don't get the opportunity to visit the museum," said Linda Kirkendall, owner of Brown Wrapper.
It also provides advertisement for the Mountain Home Museum. "This is a great way to remind people you're there," said Bethany Croyle, Owner of The Phoenix Storybook Co.
Mannequins Around Town benefits the benefits the businesses as well as the community, museum officials contended.
"It keeps people in here longer so we have a chance to promote some of the things in our business," said Kathy Jefferies of Idaho Independent Bank.
To gain a larger range of age groups Mannequins Around Town brochures were placed in: Taco Johns, The Upper Cut, Home Fedeal, Moxie Java, Burger King, The Best Western, Tobacco Connection, Idaho Youth Ranch, Mountain Home R.V. Park, and Desert Mountain Visitor's Center.
The project will end Aug. 7.
