Fire destroys car following crash

The driver of a Suzuki XK7 vehicle escaped serious injury when her car erupted in flames following a two-car accident at the intersection of Highway 30 and the frontage road near the Burger King last Thursday, July 2.
According to the Elmore County Sheriff's Office, the Suzuki driver, a female from Horseshoe Bend whose name was not available by press time, was exiting the interstate onto Highway 30, when the male driver of a commercial F-150 Ford pickup for Dales Service, Inc., of Boise, apparently ran the stop sign on the side road in front of her. His name also was not available at press time.
The female driver did not have time to apply her brakes and attempted to veer out of the male driver's path, but "T-boned" the pickup in the side-panel area. The driver of the pickup was taken to Elmore Medical Center where he was treated and released. He was cited for failure to yield.
The female driver was not injured, but her car caught on fire as a result of the accident and was totally destroyed.
