McKenna students volunteer time for community service program
Students from Richard McKenna Charter High School have all worked to better the city of Mountain Home with their McKenna Students in Service program.
The Students in Service program was developed after the State Department of Education implemented service learning projects, McKenna would later refer to them as civic engagement projects.
The guidelines for the civic engagement projects are for each volunteer to work 40 hours of service for a non-profit organization, have 30 hours of documentation in a personal journal and give a 10 minute presentation to the student body about their projects.
