Local dog owners earn AKC honors

Three local youths have earned honors at an American Kennel Club (AKC) competition in Utah.
Bethany Johns and her sister, Renelle Johns, both attended AKC shows this past weekend, May 1-2, in South Jordan, Utah.
Bethany won two days in a row in her class, showing a Parson Russell Terrier named "Boogie." She has completed the last of her needed wins in AKC competition and is now classified as an "Open Senior Competitor" (ages 15-18) in Junior Showmanship.

Renelle achieved enough wins last summer to be classified as an "Open Intermediate Competitor" (ages 12-15) in Junior Showmanship. She showed a miniature dachshund named "Chloe."
Mountain Home's Ben Cecceralli, who qualified to go as a competitor to Westminster in 2007 and Eucanuba in 2008, also showed at the South Jordan Show and won "Best Junior" on Thursday. He showed a smooth fox terrier named "Cash."
