Health clinics to be held in Grand View, Glenns Ferry
The Glenns Ferry Health Center, (GFHC) will sponsor a Health Fair on Tuesday, April 28, from 8-10:30 a.m. at the Valley Health Center, 350 Main St., in Grand View.
In addition, a second health fair is planned for Tuesday, May 5, from 8-11 a.m. at the Glenns Ferry Health Center, 486 West First Ave., in Glenns Ferry.
Both health fairs will provide cardio, lipid, and thyroid blood screening and will feature health education/consultation with a GFHC physician, physician assistant, or behavioral health counselor, as well as dental oral screening and education. Other offerings include bone density screening for women over 50 years old, a Pulmonary Function Test for smokers/persons over 50 years of age, and breast exams for women over 40 (by appointment).
Activities at the health fair will be free, with the exception of the blood analysis, which will cost $10 for the blood work. Those taking advantage of the blood analysis offering should remember to fast for 12 hours prior to the blood draw. The blood analysis includes a Comprehensive Metabolic Panel (glucose, electrolytes, kidney, and liver functions, and cardiac risk profile), Lipid Panel (cholesterol), and Thyroid. Anyone 13 to 18 years of age may have the blood work completed with parent consent.
