Five injured in I-84 rollover
An accident Wednesday morning at milepost 98 on I-84 sent five people to the hospital, including three young children.
According to Idaho State Police, the driver, Brittany Phillips, 25, of Las Vegas, Nev., was westbound at approximately 7:30 a.m. when she drifted into the median and overcorrected, causing her SUV to roll several times. Authorities believe Phillips, who was headed to Boise from southern Nevada, either fell asleep or became distracted.
Phillips and another adult female were flown by Life Flight to St. Alphonsus Regional Medical Center in Boise with what police said were serious injuries.
The three pre-school children, who suffered minor injuries, were taken by ambulance to Elmore Medical Center and then flown to Boise to be with their mothers.
All of the occupants were wearing seat belts.
