Martinez to face trial for kidnapping

Carlos Martinez, 19, has been bound over to District Court for a July 7 jury trial on a charge of second-degree kidnapping.

Martinez allegedly attempted to grab a nine-year-old girl off the street in Canyon Creek Mobile Home Park on Feb. 6.

Investigating officers said the girl fought off the attempted abduction and ran home for help. The girl and her aunt went to the trailer park manager's office and reported the alleged kidnapping attempt.

Responding sheriff's deputies arrested Martinez without incident.

Yep, spunky little girl...and thank goodness her parents raised her right.... maybe saved her life.
