Relay for Life kicks off with intro party Thursday

"Open Your Heart to Relay" and celebrate 25 years of Relay for Life at the 2009 Kickoff Party on Thursday, Feb. 12, at the Mountain Home Public Library.

The festivities start at 6 p.m. and run through 7:30 p.m. with cake and refreshments.

Local organizers will be on hand to provide information about starting a Relay team, raising funds and encouraging businesses to become event sponsors.

Cancer Survivors are encouraged to come and sign up to be honored at the Survivor Reception before the relay's opening ceremonies.

This year's relay will take place at Eastside Park, next to Mountain Home High School, on June 19, with the goal of raising $60,000. See the mountainhomenews for the complete story.
