It's not all Bush's fault
Dear editor:
This letter is in reference to the "not a legacy to be proud of' published in the Dec. 24 issue of the Mountain Home News.
First, let me assure you that I am not a die-hard supporter of anyone and I am certainly not blind. Then I would say to you:
I would think you could report on newsworthy items rather than attempt to rouse the rabble by publishing your factless personal opinions on any number of half truths or subjects that you apparently have a very limited knowledge. It is employees like you who cause the news media to be the worst enemy this country has.
Your yammering supports your misconception that President Bush single handedly made all decisions and wrote all of the checks to support his recommended programs and projects; that he personally directed Wall Street and Wa-Mu to make numerous questionable loans. You need to attend some political science classes to help you understand the structure of our government and become literate about who has decision making authority and responsibility.
No doubt you also wrote little bits about facts and yammered ad nauseam with half truths about President Clinton when his term was over. And, unless you are bound by racial prejudice, you will likewise be writing about Obama when his term is up.
You apparently fail to understand that a newspaper should advise the public on facts of newsworthy events; and is not the place for you to vent your personal opinions or prejudices. I would suggest that you find something else to do.
Delbert Shaw
