Rain dampers Fall Harvest

Cold, grey, windy weather with rain put a damper on last weekend's Fall Harvest Festival, sponsored by the Chamber of Commerce Merchant's Committee.
Several vendors, displays and entertainers pulled out of the event toward the end of the week after seeing the weather reports, but about 1,000 people showed up to take advantage of the sales and activities that were available.
The Cow Pie Bingo, sponsored by the Beta Zeta Club to raise funds for cancer research, drew a small crowd that waited through the rain for the apparently constipated heifer to "deliver" the winning number.
The petting zoo also was a hit with the kids, while the older crowd enjoyed the Mountain Home Historical Museum hayrides. The museum also held an apple dunking contest.
Winners of the chili contest were not available by press time.
The Idaho Youth Ranch sponsored a pumpkin drawing contest. The winners were:
