JV volleyball team finishes second
The Mountain Home Lady Tiger JV volleyball team finished second at the annual Lyle Petty Volleyball Classic at Borah High School on Sept. 13.
The Lady Tigers won their morning pool play by beating the JVs from Timberline, Columbia and Meridian. In afternoon pool play they kept it up, beating Mountain View, Centennial and Boise.
The wins put Mountain Home against Eagle's JV in the championship finals that evening.
The Lady Tigers battled Eagle tough, but lost to the Lady Mustangs 12-25, 18-25.
"I was so very proud of how my girls played," said Mountain Home Lady Tiger JV volleyball coach Erin Markus. "They played their hearts out and had so much fun. To go into the finals against the Eagle junior varsity, which is part of a nationally ranked volleyball program, and give them a great match was a great feeling, and I couldn't have been happier with the way the girls played."
Members of the Mountain Home Lay Tigers JV include juniors Shelby Roberts, Amanda Osborne, Chelsea Bacon, Sara Baldridge, Daniella Stratton, Lindsay Sessions and Rachel Kowalewski, sophomores Jessica Liercke and Trista Stepp, and freshman Dylan Dean.
The Lady Tigers JV also beat Kuna and Nampa their last time out to improve to 6-4 in league play.
