Thunderbirds will appear at base air show
On Sept. 15, more than 70,000 Treasure Valley residents may be waking up with stiff necks. That will be the minor consequence for aerobatics fans after watching planes go nose over tail, wingtip over wingtip, end over end, gyrating through the sky and spinning, falling and diving during Gunfighter Skies 2008.
The bi-annual event takes place Sept. 13 and 14 at Mountain Home Air Force Base. Sponsored by the 366th Fighter Wing, in conjunction with Silver Wings of Idaho, the show is headlined by the United States Air Force Thunderbirds, F-15E and F-18 aerial demonstrations, heritage flights, the Gunfighter Air Power Demo and Wings of Blue, the U.S. Air Force Academy jump team.
