JV Tigers sweep Nampa
The Mountain Home Tigers junior varsity baseball team closed out its regular season schedule with a sweep of Nampa last week.

An eight-run fifth inning put the game away for Mountain Home last Tuesday in Nampa, as the JV Tigers beat Nampa's JV Bulldogs 14-7.
Logan Monasterio led a nine-hit attack with three hits of his own, including two doubles, and drove in three runs. Trevor Woodruff had a three-run triple, Tom Hennessey, Anthony Castillo, David Bitrick and Shawn Lewis all had hits and RBIs, and Chris Maholick also had a hit. Jon McCabe got the win, going four innings. Devan Wilkinson pitched an inning and two-thirds of relief, and Trevor Woodruff the final inning and a third of scoreless relief.

The Tigers had another eight-run inning against Nampa, this time in the first, as they beat the Bulldogs in six, 12-2, last Wednesday at home.
Trevor Woodruff had two hits and three RBIs in the win. Tom Hennessey had a hit and two RBIs, and went the distance on the mound for the win, striking out 10. Chris Maholick had a hit and RBI, and Shawn Lewis, David Bitrick and Anthony Castillo also had hits.
The Tigers finished the regular season schedule 9-5 in conference and 11-7 overall. They won six of their last seven ball games to take third in conference.
"It was a great finish after a slow start," said Tiger JV baseball coach Matt Bundy. "The guys really came on and had a great second half of the season. We are playing good baseball and will compete well at district."
The Tigers opened the JV District Tournament on Saturday against Skyview.
