'Carnage on the Court' will raise funds for senior celebration
Organizers of the senior celebration are sponsoring a "Carnage on the Court" fundraiser on Tuesday, March 4, beginning at 7 p.m. in the high school gymnasium.
Members of the high school wrestling team and the basketball team will square off against each other in an exhibition basketball game and exhibition wrestling match.
In addition, the halftime show will feature a "blindfold boxing" match involving the basketball and wrestling coaches.
A nacho bar will be set up in the lobby to provide refreshments for the evening.
The cost to attend the event is $2 at the door. All funds raised will be used to support the senior celebration, a supervised alcohol-free all-night party for graduating seniors that begins the evening after graduation on May 30.
Organizers of the senior celebration continue to seek more volunteers to help with the event.
The group's next meeting will be March 3 at 6 p.m. in room 24A at the high school.
The group also is organizing another fundraiser at the school. Senior students will be selling baked goods on Fridays. Any senior parent that wishes to donate baked goods for the fundraiser can bring in the baked items to the office on Fridays and the students will sell them at lunchtime.
