The Mountain Home Historical Museum will be showcasing quilts throughout January in honor of pioneers that utilized each piece of cloth over and over.
The pioneer women on the Oregon Trail made quilts for bedding, packing, warmth and comfort.
The various heirloom Patchwork, Friendship, Crazy, Charm and Chintz Appliqué quilting patterns "offers us treasured family history," noted museum Director Nancy Marshall.
Local Mountain Home, Owyhee and Three Island Quilter groups also will be sharing their art and history throughout downtown, Thursday evening, Jan. 24, during the Arts After Five event.
