Tiger boys JV picks up first win of season
The Mountain Home Tigers junior varsity boys basketball team picked up their first win of the season last Thursday night, beating Columbia, 40-34, in Lloyd Schiller Gymnasium in Mountain Home.
The first quarter went back and forth, with Mountain Home up, 8-7, after a quarter. The Tigers led, 18-14, at the half.
Mountain Home built their lead up to nine, 30-21, after three quarters, and had their biggest lead, 36-22 midway through the final quarter, before Columbia battled back to within four, 36-32, with 1:18 left. The Tigers held off Columbia for a 40-34 win.
Josh Foale led the Tigers with 21 points. Logan Monasterio added eight, Danny Snelgrow scored six, and Gabe Anderson had five to round out the scoring.
The win improved the Tigers to 1-2 on the season, and 1-0 in conference. They return to action Friday night at Nampa for a 6 p.m. game.
