Fall Harvest Festival this Saturday in Mountain Home

The annual Fall Harvest Festival will be held this Saturday, Oct. 6, in downtown Mountain Home.

The event will feature live entertainment, vendors and food booths located throughout the downtown area, as well as the popular chili cook-off and a "soap box" forum for city council and mayoral candidates.

Booth spaces are still available at a cost of $20 per space. An application form on booth spaces can be found in the Mountain Home News or contact the Chamber of Commerce at 587-4334.

A tentative schedule of events has been announced for the Chamber of Commerce merchant's promotion, which runs from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. this Saturday. The current schedule is:

* 10:30-11 a.m. -- Optimist Cheerleaders will perform on the stage adjacent to the Chamber office.

* 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. -- "Historical Hayrides" from the museum (every 45 minutes).

* 11-11:30 a.m. -- City of Mountain Home Candidates for City Council Forum.

* Noon to 12:30 p.m. -- Optimist Cheerleaders will again perform.

* 12:30-12:45 p.m. -- City of Mountain Home Candidates for Mayor Forum.

* 1-1:30 p.m. -- Pumpkin Painting Contest sponsored by McDonalds and Idaho Youth Ranch at the Idaho Youth Ranch.

* 1:30-2:30 p.m. -- Musical entertainment by "Rattlesnake Creek."
