Setback won't stop '07 fair

Dear editor:

As the Fair Manager of the Elmore County Fair and Rodeo, I wanted to let everyone know that despite some rumors milling around town, the fair is still taking place this year!

We have been dealt an unfortunate set back -- Royal West Carnival has reneged on their contract and will not be coming to our Fair this year. I am working on setting up other entertainment as such sort notice.

What I can tell you, is there will be over 35 vendors, a junior youth rodeo and the ICA/IPCA rodeo, live bands Wednesday through Thursday, and of course, 4-H and Optimist will be showing and selling their livestock.

I understand that the carnival is fun, but I would like to remind everyone to come and support our youth and come and pay respects to our military -- past, present, and future.

All of us look forward to seeing all of you sometime between July 25 through the 28th! Come try different kinds of food, help the local high school organizations raise money, and see the bucking broncos.

Let's make this a fair to remember!
