Blacks will celebrate golden anniversary this weekend

Col. (ret.) and Mrs. Frank Black will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary this week.

Franklin J. Black and Caroline Joan Kennedy were married in Mountain Home on May 22, 1957. They attended the University of Idaho and upon graduation, Frank became a pilot in the U.S. Air Force. Frank's military career took them to California, Washington, Arizona, Maine, Washington, D.C., and Africa, among other locations.

Upon retiring from the Air Force they returned to Mountain Home in 1988.

A celebration of their 50 years together will be held on June 10 at 1867 Charolais in Meridian. The event will be hosted by their children, Randall and his wife, Debbie, of Susanville, Calif., Michael and his wife, Lisa, of Meridian, Kevin and his wife, Lani, of Oklahoma, and Shelley and her husband, John of Illinois.

In addition to their four children and their spouses the Black's have 11 grandchildren and one great-grandchild
