With the 4A schools battling the 5A schools at the Bandana Invitational Track and Field Meet at Mountain View last week, the Mountain Home Tigers came home with some good efforts at the meet.
Borah ran away with the girls competition, scoring 150 points.
Emmett was a distant second with 90 points. Mountain Home finished ninth, with 30 points.
Kacy Barrie won the 100 meter high hurdles and was second in the 300 intermediate hurdles.
Mountain Home's sprint medley relay team of Kacy Barrie, Sherica Holman, Emily Moranda and Kristie Sigloh finished fifth.
Piper Coffin finished sixth in the 100 meter high hurdles.
Emily Moranda was seventh in the 300 meter hurdles, and Kristie Sigloh came in seventh in the 400 meter dash.
Borah also won the boys competition, scoring 104 points. Bishop Kelly was second with 79.5. Mountain Home finished 14th out of the 16-team field, with 15 points.
Nick O'Briant placed third in the high jump.
Bob Daniels had a fourth-place effort in the long jump.
Brandon Sloan came in seventh in the 800 meter run, and Nick Barrie was eighth in the long jump.
"It was (tough competition). I thought we competed though," said Tiger head track coach Rich Urquidi. "We got some kids to the finals and those kids did well. We had a lot of bests for the year, and for a lot of kids, it was a big meet for them and they had some good experiences they can take into districts. We had a couple no-heights, and not some of our better throws and jumps, and so they learned."
Mountain Home will send a number of athletes to the Boise Relays at Bronco Stadium in Boise on Friday.
