Tiger tennis team ties Kuna
The Mountain Home Tiger tennis team earned a 6-6 tie with the Kuna Kavemen last Thursday in Mountain Home.
Mountain Home swept the girls singles, with Julie Remington winning, 6-3, 6-1 over Sheree Adams, Jessica Hoover topping Tressa Cole, 6-2, 6-2, and Laura Lothrop downing Erica Belveal, 6-2,6-3.
Justin Brummitt won the number one boys singles match, besting Sean Ball, 3-6, 6-3, 6-3.
Trevor Lema lost the number two singles match 0-6, 0-6, to Blake Kerbs, and Jason Ward lost to Jared Smith, 1-6, 1-6.
Mountain Home split its girls' doubles matches, with Breanna White and Daryl Enriquez losing to Erin Goodrich and Asia Button, 4-6, 64, 1-6, while Cami Pachner and Mary Booth blanked Alanna Robinson and Alaissa Manning, 6-0, 6-0.
In boys doubles, Justin Richins and Jordan Niksich lost to Trevor Hixson and Vaughn Christensen, 0-6, 3-6, aid Dan Remington and Luke Anderson lost to Coby James and Eric Schultzmeier, 0-6, 1-6.
The Mountain Home mixed doubles teams split, with Zach Fischer and Lindsay Horgan losing to Kevin Lundgren and Cicely Winkler, 2-6, 1-6, and Matt Ward and Erika McGill winning in three sets over Sam Beatty and Karen Roe, 6-4, 4-6, 6-4.
"I was pleased with our performance," said Tiger tennis coach Phil McCluskey. "We lost the girls number one doubles in three sets, and a couple of breaks in that match could have changed the outcome.
"Justin Brummitt overcame a first-set loss to win in three sets.
"All the girls singles players played well, winning in straight sets. The girls number two doubles won without losing a game, and the mixed number two doubles won a hard fought three-set match to secure the tie."
The Tigers are at Caldwell Thursday to face the Cougar netters.
